An inner-city high school’s Public Speaking (Forensics) Team, which has long lost its winning glory and on the verge of losing its funding, finds its footing again through perseverance, passion, and the hopeful addition of a talented, bright-eyed freshman named Sophie. That is if she can get out of her shell and face the awkwardness of all her high school coming-of-age growing pains.

The Pilot was chosen as an Honorable Mention in the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival Awards 2023.
